Subject

The subject of the M.Sc. program in “Informatics and Telematics” is to provide specialized knowledge in advanced topics and applications of Informatics and Telematics, particularly in the fields of data management and artificial intelligence, cloud technologies and infrastructures, the Internet of Things, and the development of applications in these environments. It also focuses on the utilization of information systems in business and organizational management and digital transformation. Its graduates will be capable of meeting the staffing needs of public and private sector entities, participating in high-level research and development, and generating new scientific knowledge.

The M.Sc. program aims to:

  • Provide specialized knowledge in the fields of Applied Informatics and Telecommunications, so that its graduates can meet the needs of both public and private sector personnel.
  • Foster the development of high-level student research, funded by the program’s resources.
  • Contribute to the production and promotion of new scientific knowledge.
  • Recognize excellence by rewarding distinguished students.
  • Provide continuous support to graduates through the University’s Career Office.

Through a modern educational program and by utilizing distance learning techniques, the M.Sc. aims to:

Students selecting one of the program’s directions will gain expertise in the development of modern applications, telematics, and management information systems. The curriculum employs contemporary teaching methods, including electronic applications, tutorial exercises, and real-case analysis. Emphasis on laboratory components ensures hands-on experience with technologies using both open-source solutions and established technological platforms.
In all courses, a strong emphasis is placed on practical application, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the technologies they study. This approach enhances individual and organizational skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, and effective communication.
The Master’s program stands as a holistic and dynamic platform, shaping graduates into adept professionals ready to excel in today’s technology-driven landscape.

The department's priority research axes are as follows:

a) The design and implementation of innovative electronic telecommunication services.

b) The development and design of appropriate information systems to support these services.

c) The development of suitable network technologies for the transmission of necessary information to and from the end user.

Graduates from all three specializations have exceeded 400 since the initiation of the postgraduate program in 2012.
