Learning Outcomes

This particular course aims to highlight the upcoming rapid developments in the field of cloud and edge/ΙοΤ systems, wanting to spark students' interest in future and emerging directions. In this context, it also acts as an introduction to the thesis stage, trying to be a source of inspiration for combining the technologies that the students have been taught in the context of a comprehensive topic for the thesis. It aims to strengthen the prospects of the specific program towards innovation but also to create potential research stimuli that will subsequently strengthen the doctoral studies program of the department.

Course Content

Lectures on selected cutting-edge topics with targeted presentations on the application of technologies. Indicative topics:
1. Advanced topics of software-based programmable networks
2. Advanced IoT topics
3. Resource management in the Cloud-edge continuum
4. Applying AI to the Edge
