Full-time and Part-time Studies
The program offers the possibility for full-time and part-time postgraduate studies.
Full-time and part-time students follow the same curriculum, with the only difference being that part-time students choose fewer courses per semester. Full-time students enroll in a total of 5 courses (3 mandatory and 2 electives), while part-time students have the option to enroll in 2 to 3 courses (from the 3 mandatory and 2 elective courses offered in the semester).
Of the three (3) full-time semesters of the postgraduate program, the first two (2) are dedicated to coursework, and the third semester is reserved for the mandatory completion of the postgraduate thesis and the compulsory attendance of the Seminar (which can also be attended starting from the first semester).
In order to obtain the Master's Degree in Specialization, each postgraduate student must successfully complete the mandatory courses, along with any elective courses they wish, so that the total number of successfully completed ten (10) courses [a total of sixty (60) ECTS credits], successful attendance of the mandatory seminar [six (6) ECTS credits], and the successful submission and presentation of the thesis [twenty-four (24) ECTS credits].
For postgraduate students in all three specializations, the third semester includes the mandatory completion of the master's thesis.
For serious reasons and upon the student's request, the Department can extend the duration of studies, following a justified recommendation from the Academic Council. The extension cannot exceed half of the normal duration of the studies.
Suspension of Studies (At the Start of the Semester)
Each postgraduate student has the right to request a temporary suspension of studies not exceeding two (2) consecutive semesters. The suspension is granted upon the student's request and is approved by the Department Council. The period of suspension is not counted towards the maximum allowable duration of studies. During the suspension, the postgraduate student is not required to pay additional tuition fees.
Student Dismissal
If a student wishes to discontinue their studies, they must submit a formal request, and upon approval by the Department Council, they cease to hold the status of a postgraduate student. Tuition fees already paid by the student are non-refundable.
In the event of exceeding the maximum duration of studies, the Director informs the Department Council, which may decide to dismiss the student from the postgraduate program.
Grading
The final grade for each course is determined by the overall evaluation of students' performance in specific areas (e.g., assignments, exams) according to the guidelines provided by the instructor at the beginning of the semester. The minimum passing grade for a course is 6.0 out of 10.
