How to commercialize your innovation. The example of a High – Tech startup company

Trimsignal is a startup company with the ambition to commercialize an innovative digital design approach that can change the existing digital design approach in the chip market. The primer objectives are the implementation of a business plans aiming on the penetration at the semiconductor market. In this direction, the core team of Trimsignal consisted by three high qualified PhD computer engineers and a high qualified IP attorney with high experience from leading Semiconductor companies. The Trimsignal team has already approached key players and have built a promising network with the industry. In this talk, we will first discuss the road from the conception of an innovative idea towards its implementation in a high-tech start-up and then dig into some more technical insights of Trimsignal technology.

CEO Nikolaos Zompakis, CEO and Co-Founder, Athens, Greece, www.linkedin.com/in/nikolaoszompakis: Mr. Zompakis is the CEO and co-founder of Trimsignal. He is a digital design expert on low power/high performance microprocessor architectures and implementation design techniques. Mr. Zompakis has more than fifteen years experience as a PhD research project assistant designing SoC and multi-core platforms for advanced mobile and high performance systems. His expertise is in clock architectures with particular knowledge in VLSI design. He has a disciplined approach to developing advanced design methodologies that ensure reliability, dependability and high efficiency across a variety of digital architectures. Mr. Zompakis is an expert in scenario analysis of complex systems and has a deep knowledge of abstract modelling. He is a co-editor of the book “System-Scenario-based Design Principles and Applications”. As Trimsignal’s CEO, Mr. Zompakis is responsible for R&D, product and business development, project management, and financial operations.

Chief IP Officer/General Counsel George Pappas, and Co-Founder, USA, www.linkedin.com/in/georgepappa Mr. Pappas heads the IP Licensing, IP creation and IP monetization strategy for Trimsignal. He has twenty-five plus years cumulative experience in Patent and Trademark Portfolio Management, IP Strategy and Commercialization Technology Transfer, Licensing and Patent law. He holds a law degree from George Washington, an MBA, as well as degrees in Electrical & Computer Engineering.  Mr. Pappas drafts, files, prosecutes and manages Trimsignal patent portfolio and other IP assets.  He is experienced in all facets of IP, including patent protection, litigation, counseling, and U.S. and European patent prosecution. Until recently he also served as Of Counsel to one of US’s premier IP law firms. Mr. Pappas has held a number of prestigious positions in industry including as VP of Patents and IP Strategy at Qualcomm Inc., Senior/Division Counsel at Volvo Cars inc., and Motorola Inc., as well as senior roles at Tier 1 globally ranked law firms in Washington DC, Chicago and California.
